Privacy Policy

Effective September 2026

"Dažnis" (listed on the App Store as "Frequency") is an internet radio app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.

Summary

Location

Location access is off by default and only turned on from Settings. When enabled, the app uses your approximate location to:

Location is processed on your device and sent only to Apple's mapping service to resolve a country from coordinates — it is never sent to us or stored on any server we operate.

Microphone and song recognition

Some radio stations don't broadcast the title of the song currently playing. In that case, Frequency can use the microphone (via Apple's ShazamKit) to recognize the song — either when you tap the recognize button, or briefly and periodically in the background if you've turned that on in Settings. Audio is processed instantly for recognition and is never saved or sent to us.

Network requests

To play radio and show related information, the app connects to:

Data stored on your device

Favorite stations, listening history, settings, and data-usage statistics are stored only on your device (or, if you use system-level iCloud sync, between your own devices). We have no access to this data.

Notifications

The app may send local (not server-sent) notifications — for example, when a sleep timer ends or when you cross into a country whose stations aren't enabled yet.

Children's privacy

Frequency is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above, and note any material changes inside the app.
